Primus Solicitors is a national law firm. We act for clients across the UK from our Manchester office, by phone, video or in person. If you were injured in the last three years in an accident that was not your fault, we can tell you in one call whether you have a claim, what it may be worth and how it is funded, usually on a no win no fee basis.

What we help with

  • Injury at work: falls, lifting injuries, machinery, vehicles, unsafe systems of work and industrial disease.
  • Injury in a public place: slips, trips and falls in shops, restaurants, car parks, pavements and other premises.
  • Road traffic accidents: drivers, passengers, cyclists, motorcyclists and pedestrians, including whiplash and uninsured or untraced drivers.
  • Injuries caused by someone else's negligence in other settings, including sports and leisure, and accidents involving children.
  • Medical negligence: injury caused by treatment that fell below a reasonable standard. We assess these claims and refer where specialist expertise is needed.

Why choose Primus Solicitors

  • No win no fee for suitable claims, with the success fee capped by law and explained in writing before you start.
  • A solicitor runs your claim and tells you the truth about its value and prospects.
  • Rehabilitation first. We ask for early treatment and interim payments where the insurer accepts liability.
  • National reach by phone and video; medical examinations arranged near you.
  • Regulated and accredited: Solicitors Regulation Authority and Law Society Lexcel.

What you can claim

Compensation for the injury itself (pain, suffering and loss of amenity) and for financial losses: lost earnings, care given by family, travel, treatment and equipment, and future losses where the injury is lasting. Whiplash injuries in road accidents are valued under a fixed tariff; see road traffic accidents.

Time limits

Court proceedings must normally be started within three years of the accident, or of the date you first knew the injury was significant and caused by someone else's fault. For a child the three years run from their 18th birthday. Some cases, such as accidents abroad or on ships and aircraft, have shorter limits. Contact us as soon as you can: evidence is easier to gather early.

Questions people ask

What do I pay if I lose?

Nothing for our fees under a no win no fee agreement, provided you have kept to its terms. See no win no fee for how insurance covers other costs.

How much will I get?

It depends on the injury, how long it lasts and your financial losses. We give you a range once we have a medical report. We never promise a figure before then.

How long does a claim take?

Straightforward claims where the other side admits fault often settle within six to twelve months of the medical report; disputed or serious injury claims take longer.
